You could have said the same thing for Baldur's gate when it came out in 1998 or SIMS when it came out in 2000 . Expansions and DLC are nothing new and one could actually make an argument that Paradox should be lauded for continued support on its older games .
Why everyone hates paradox but me- Their dlc policy.
Why everyone hates said dlc policy- they see a bunch of paywalls for extra content and focus on the games like hoi4 where very little makes it in the base game from the dlcs if you have only the base game.
Why I live their dlc policy- I look at their dlc policy and see it as a way to continue funding for years after release adding new content and making the game better rather than releasing a new game (I would rather stick to one set of games for a long time) I also see how in games like CK2 when they release a DLC a good chunk of the content makes it into the base game. The games released in 2012 or something like that and its had constant development since then. And you get more stuff in the base game too. Plus then you get an AMAZING grand strategy game for the base price, then if you really like it you can spend a bit more money to buy a handful of the dlc and customize the experiance as you wish.
And think of this- you pay like 30-40 dollars combining the ticket and food for a 1-2, maybe 3 hour movie at the theatre. If you spend 100 dollars on a paradox games, which is like 5 hours of movie time worth, you can get 500-1000 hours of entertainment. Thats very good value...
This thread is over.
This. All they care about is selling new bells and whistles.
Eh? sure.
That is true, but the problem is they make us pay money for thing to make the game "complete". And it's overpriced.
