How to train a division?

I remember a way to train already deployed troops to increase their rank but I can't find it because I'm dumb

Assign the units to an army if you haven't already. Then click on that army and there simply click on 'exercise' (the button with the gears). If you can't see the button right away just type 'k' on your keyboard while keeping an eye on the upper left corner of the screen...

I for the most part, and actually in my last campaign I didn't train any of my troops on the field. I let them train all the way through in the training Q. In other words when my Troops hit the field they were TRAINED.
