Trade Influence - what is it???
Wtf is trade influence? Loaded my game up and suddenly noticed I have lost all resources from all trade deals, due to "lack of trade influence". Played about 10 playthroughs of this game so far, first time I run into this.

I have 330 hours in this game, and I honestly still have no idea.

If the country you are trading with runs out of tradeable resources, having a high trade influence will ensure that you get priority for the resources over nations with less trade influence

I play as Communist-Sweden and I am in the Comintern fighting along side the SU against both the Allies and Axis. Suddenly lost all trade with SU, even though they are gaining, not loosing territory and I have borders with them. Lost over 50 oil and aluminium each. Weird.

It's basically a measure of the trade relations with a counrty. As @sckrovan stated, if a counrty starts running out of resources to trade, it will prioritize trade with counrties it has higher trade relations with.

Thanks for the answers, but I think it is a bug in my case stopping my trade with the SU. Oh well, patch tomorrow.

Actually, it's probably the AI selecting closed economy. Faction majors like to crush the industrial output of their allies like that.

Oh, that would explain things. Thanks for your answer. And thanks AI for being bad. -_-

i found a way to force the ai to reopen its economy.

hoping you have the political power to do so, Switch your Economy to closed and the ai will respond by switching to another type.

its best to double check that they are still importing from you though. but even with meager exports from myself. it usualy still forces the ai to reopen.

Thanks, I will try that one out as soon as I go back to finish my Sunflower-patch save later today.
