Great War mod as Quing Dynasty: Is it possible to survive as a emperor?

Is it possible to survive the quing dynasty in Great War mod? How have you done it?

When China civil war starts, republic of China takes automagically most of the lands and majority of my army disappears. Shortly after civil war it seems another civl war starts against republic of China and they get new lands and i lose yet more divisions.

Funny. In my case the civil war event fired, but no rebel faction showed up. I remained Qing with all of my territories except Tibet and Mongolia, which for whatever reason became independent without any war. Also got 100% democratic support, yet remained authoritarian nonetheless.
