civillian vs military factories
I'm just curious how you guys prioritize building civillian vs military factories? like at what point do you stop building civillian factories and start building military ones?

If have 10+ civilian available for use I build military factories and do focuses for civ factories if I need more

focuses don't give that many though. isn;t it more efficient to build a whole bunch and then build military factories faster or does it not end up actually working out that way?
I believe military factories cost half the amount of civie factories. Unless you have a damn decent reason for it, build military, and ONLY military factories. (with a minimum of say, 4 or 5 free civie factories, after goods production)

The best strat to do at least for majors like Germany soviet union etc is to only build civilian factories until about 1938 maybe even 1939. The more civs you have the quicker and more things you can build. As a minor nation you should still focus on civilian factories and try to go down the civilian factory basic focuses. Military factories are good but eventually you will run out of resources and have to trade away civilian factories so its best to have a ton so you can build and trade freely. Military factories would be produced between 1938 or 1939 so you have a good sized military economy before war.

It all depends, how many building slots do you have, when do you plan on joining a war/creating a war, how much are you planning on expanding your military, are you trying to max efficiency a particular product before the war, etc?

If you have the building capacity to allow for a diverse industry then I say go all out with civilian factories.

A general strategy of mine is minors (15+ civilian factories) and majors (45+ civilian factories. Rather easy to get) that are not being used for consumer goods. Civilian factories are life when you get into the war and you need an exponential increase in oil, military factories, etc as you are able to produce multiple construction types in parallel rather than just have serial construction. Not to mention the ability to have one or multiple stacks for repair and the others on construction.

One thing I was told when I started playing was civilian all the way through the majority of peacetime, then when the war is about a year off or so switch to full military.

The more playthroughs the more you will develop what works for you. Just keep trying different methods and the ratio will make sense based on your needs and how you play.

Yeah I definetely say go more civ factories. not only can you build factories quiker but also everything else. I have 200 civilian factories As Romania (many from protectorates who spammed them for some reason) and I can build lvl 10 fortesses across many miles of front in mere months

My best guess is that you want/need 4-5 CF Lines {15 CFs each} to begin to have the flexibility in what to build, and how much of it .
