When i was on vacation, this game ran fine on a MAC (I couldnt bring my big laptop so i had to use a mac) EU4 Ran great too

You may be able to improve performance by disabling various graphical options. Open settings.txt in '\\Document\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV' and set some or all of the following:

draw_trees=no

draw_postfx=no

draw_sky=no

draw_hires_terrain=no

draw_citysprawl=no

draw_shadows=no

draw_water_reflections=no

high_gfx_shaders=no

I mean, it runs like ♥♥♥♥ on high end PC's. Its just poorly optimized.

theres a mod called lowered equipement production which basically makes all equipment longer to produce. it helps will lag because overall there is like a 40% less amount of units on the map. i notice a 30 fps increase when using it

turn the graphics right down and remember to turn off the day/night cycle, that actually chews up a bit. do remember that once large global war breaks out you will slow again unless you are only having issues with the graphics card, this game takes up a fair amount of background power (ram i think it is im no comp expert).

no it uses failry little ram, its just really heavy on cpu usage
