Division organisation, how to improve?
At the moment my divisions have an organisation of 37.6, seems low to me? My 4 artillery reduce my organisation by 7.2 and my 4 support companies combined reduce my organisation by 4.2.

So i lose a total of 11.4 organisation there.

My 12 infantry provide 13.2 organisation.

What is an ideal organisation level and how do I raise it?

The engineering company should raise your organization

Also Recon company, logistics company, Signal Company and maintenance company should all raise your organization
never ever create a division with more than 3 line artillery, stick with 3 line artillery and once you got SP-ART change them

They seem to lower it according to the modifiers.
also once your economy become stable change your infantry into 5 mountaneer and 4 marine

37ish organization isn't that bad. just make sure you got 35+

I made some slight adjustments. Removed an artillery squad and placed some motorized infantry in. Organization is almost 45. Combat width almost 40. Researching some land doctrines now, will take years to get the organization, but it's worth it.

nice, you're suppose to research land doctrine from the start anyway, use military theorist to fasten the research, it will help the research time a bit

I disagree entirely. My artillery divisions have over 1000 Soft Attack. You don't need a high Organization with that kind of firepower. High Organization is only if you are slogging it out in a long fight. I think it is better to win decisively and quickly because you lose less man-power and the battles are won more easily.

I have other posts that state my division compositions which steamroll the enemy.

yeah but that's artillery division, build mainly using artillery, I'm assuming OP gonna use the division to hold the line against major power, which has a million manpower atleast, otherwise I'm agree with your statement.
Beside to properly built artillery division is not something minor nation could easily do especially in early game, you can only create tons of them at least during mid-late game

That is total bs. I tinkered around and found out that you can create arty divisions with extremely high soft attack. They will crush almost all enemy divisions at the start since they are mainly infantry. Organisation in this case will not matter since battles will end very quickly.

I suggest ppl try out 8marines and 8 arty or something for their divisions. its insane.

yeah I agree, because they got amazing soft attack, but as OP said, he want to hold the line using minor nation in early game, it's okay to get more 6 line art and 9 inf if you wanted, but the economy of minor nation is not as great german, especially not in early game

If we are talking about holding the line, soft and hard attack aren't as important as defense and entrenchment. A straight infantry mix with support arty, AT, engineers, hospital, logistics works fine.
For an offensive destined infantry unit, add in artillery and anti-tank/anti-air as desired.

As far as using moutain, marine, or paratroopers mixed, you lose alot of the bonuses a pure unit would have doing what it was built to do.
