well i accidently did not pause my game playing as Germany an when i returned it was 1938 an Germany was Communist no Hitler. Werid part was the NSDAP had 63% of the country Commies 36%.

If you look at the screenshots you see germany is doing "take advantage of politcisl turmoil" sorry kid but you have the road to 56 on, where germany has a focus to kill him.

Just had it happen to me, Hitler was assassinated by officers, given choice between Himmler or Göering to take over as the next Führer.

As you all can see from his screenshot he has tdebug mode on. Meaning its not ironman.
He proberly just forced the event through console.

Usually happens when Czechoslovakia is guaranteed by the Allies and you attack anyway. Doesn't matter if you have conquered the USSR, the entirety of the Balkans, or the North. Even if you have 3x the industry, there's a chance Hitler will be killed. Doesn't actually effect anything unless you get the super rare event that causes a democratic civil war on Hitler's death. I've only gotten it once, had to restart because I lost half my army and country.

I conqured Denmark anexed Austria hadn't dealt with USSR. I always get a pop up stating atempt on Hitlers life just this time it stated it was sucessful. I think I was doing focus on Czech but mine was in ironman mode.

this is literally the answer why anyone else is responding I dont know. the road to 56 has the focus to kill hitler which the AI picked.

Here is a more detailed version of it, can happen without Road 56.

The Triggers are that Czechoslovakia exists, Germany is at War with CZE, FRA and ENG and the Czechs got support from the Allies when Germany demanded their Land. Then during the next 150 days the event should fire
After that the three options are that:

1. Conspiracy is defeated but Hitler dies,

2. Conspiracy is defeated and Hitler survives

3. Conspiracy is successful and a Civil War in Germany is triggered.
Then it checks for the Warscore of Germany. If Germany has above 40 Warscore,
75% chance that conspiracy fails and Hitler survives
20% chance that conspiracy fails but Hitler dies
5% chance for Civil War.

If Germany has less than 40 Warscore then each option has a 33% chance of happening.
If Hitler dies Germany can choose between Himmler or Göring.

Only one ive ever had was #1 and choose between Himmler or Göring.
