How to change patch versions?
I have version V1.4.1 (6e42) but when I load up the game the patch version changes to V1.4.1 (26a6). What does this mean and how do I change to patch checksum 6e42?

Now with no MODs active, The version checksum is now a620... Any help?

Right click on HOI4 -> Properties -> Betas tab -> Click on the betas thingy and you'll see the different versions

Not really helpful, allready know how to do that but makes no difference. Thanks for the suggestion though

On the launcher press the clear user directory button

Why the necro of a four year old thread?

Version 1.10.8 with the checksum of 0aab is the current live version.

If you have a different checksum then you either have;

a) mods active that change the checksum or
b) have modified some game files yourself or
c) you have a corrupt installation

How to fix;

a) de-activate the mods

b) delete the files you modified and then verify game files in steam

c) you can first try the 'Clear user directory' button on the launcher and see if that helps.

If not then you will need to do a clean re-install. A clean re-install will fix all checksum issues but is a little more hassle:

Follow the instructions that start with: Procedure to solve point 1º

The important part of the clean re-install is the order of which things are done. Also do not miss the last part about starting the game up and loading in to the main menu once before activating any mods after doing the clean re-install.
