Tips on fighting Germany as Austria-Hungary?

Im on my ninth attempt in trying to reunite the austro hungarian empire.. I can manage to peacefuly take Austria and Czechoslovakia..And i have the Bled agreement early on. But as soon as i take over control of Czechoslovakia, Germany steam rolls right into Budapest and its game over. I'd love some pointers if you have any. Thanks!

You can go fascist, join the axis, then stab them in the back by never joining their wars, using them to kill Italy, then attack them when the tide starts to turn to make sure you can get those provinces north of Czechia without fighting the other two factions.

Complete theory crafting but here goes:

Don't start your own faction. Get world tension over 25% quick and trick germany into attacking you. Join Allies.

After war leave allies create austria hungary faction and start WWIII.
