Is Democratic Spain Possible?!?!

I've tried about 6 times now (failing every attempt) to turn spain from the 1936 era, democratic. no matter what i try i always end up fighting a bogus civil war against the fascist who are then supported by other fascist regimes leaving me to be supported by the soviet union who only sends about 1 division to help me out. 5 if im lucky(happened once). anyone done this before? is this task too great? any help is appreciated. thx.

Choose the gacist win the civil war and than start converting to democratic

win the civil war with either side then change to democratic

There's a reason why there's an achievement for winning the civil war as the republicans. It's a bit harder than the nationalists. When war breaks out you'll get a pretty big army of volunteers but they'll be really under-strength on equipment. This means for a while you just need to focus on holding out until your equipment reinforces (ask the soviet union for lend lease). Consider deleting some volunteer divisions to free up their equipment too. Once you have equipment you should be able to micro your way to victory by encircling and overrunning individual divisions until the nationalist forces are weakened enough for a decisive victory.

huh, didnt notice that that was an achievment. thx for the strats. will be giving this another shot when i get a chance. for my latest run i just joined the facsist and drowned them in democracy.
