Which HoI game is the best?

I've played quite a bit of HoI 4 and thoroughly enjoyed it. But it does, as many say, become a draw a massive front to win simulator.

Also, I recently picked up Darkest Hour and I've owned HoI 3 for awhile now and haven't really touched it.

With all that ramblely info, when it comes down to over-all experience of the game, which one of these, or other HoI titles, would you say is the best?

Please explain why as well. I need dat info plox.

i think hoi 2, a classic that brought me into the series that i have on my other account,and
i love it and now im on iv i watch view videos about 3 but never really played it.

Hoi4, tried all the other ones. I couldnt figure out the controls and couldnt figure out anything at all. Even though i play VIC2 and EU4!

Hearts of Iron 2 : Darkest Hour is the best HOI game ever, no contest here. I haven't played first HOI bu as per rankings go

1. HOI 2
2. HOI 3
3. HOI 4

But HOI 3 was in pretty bad shape too at its release, so may be we should wait for HOI 4 many expansions and patches to see where it goees.

Not HOI 4, still broken, mental amphibious invasions in 1939 and 1940 into germany, they die , a month later same thing...game AI is broken. Has potential to be good but not until they fix the AI. This is the first Paradox game I wish I hadn't bought. HOI 3 far better (even vanilla).

Thats a hard one... I would say imo that its a tie between Hoi II and Hoi IV. Saying that I really like Hoi III and who knows I might change my opinion as 3 is great but damn I love 2 and 4.

I probably would pick HoI 3 if the game wasn't so unstable even with all DLC's enabled. I'll say HoI 4 for now, since it's not horribly broken

Arsenal of Democracy with the CORE mod. Darkest Hour is good... but AoD has better logistics and less bad unfixed bugs (Naval bombers are STILL ridiculous in DH). HoI 3 has some really good poitns... but has some never fixed air combat bugs.
