The best time to attack the Soviet union?

Just finished my war goal. But it's in November. When Should I attack?

what year? who are you playing as? are they still feeling the effects of the great purge?

Yes missing some info, generally earlier is better. But if you are still at war with France probably better to wait.

But if they are suffering from the great purge go for it. It's such a massive disadvantage for them. I am not sure but I think they take the purge as the very first focus.. At least they have every game I have played recently so probably not a factor.

I think he also meant what season is best time. I think good time to attack is early summer. Because not cold, not mud, and not near winter.

Best time for me is Spring of 42. Gives me time to wrap up conquering the UK, N. Africa, Middle East, India and Dutch East Indies in addition it gives the Soviets some needed extra time so they put up more of a fight.

(as germany) As soon as you can, justify on Poland and take them over ASAP, then rush War with USSR and just spam divisions, light tanks and mountaineers. Do it after they have done the purge.

I just did this strategy and I failed so hardly. USSR gets ''Patriotic War'' bonuses which gives 45+ organisation and it goes lower, same like Purge. But because those bonuses are activated at the same time their organisation stays the same.

I also got attack from behind by naval invasion from Soviet Union. I don't know how they went through my fleet. Though, I got an idea they did a naval invasion right at the time when my ships finished a battle and swimmed to a port to repair.

i played as japan, diplo vassled china, immidiately took idea to attack the warlords, china tanked in a war agenst 4 other chinese minors while i fabricate on tibet china wins its wars i vassleize all them then war tibet, they join soviets, im now in war with tibet, RoC, sinkyang and USSR. i only manage to win because i took all them vassles beforhand and germany attacked later too. i take sinkyang, tibet and RoC as vassles and annex all russian land that i can and germany took the rest. the front got to big and i retreated and moved my front to the west more and let my vassles tank in the east of russia.

Play as Japan
National Focus and researching
Annex China
Puppet Peoples repub of china
Make your own faction
Annex tibet nepal and that place next to nepal
wait for the germans to be about 2 or 3 states big
Declare war on them around 1941
Send about 100k ships to that one sea next to italy and set them to search and destroy
take the biggest state you can in germany in the peace conference( you shoup have about 56 victory points from the naval battles)
wait till the soviet union declares war on iran and eventually turning into ww3
Declare war on them in the summer of either 1943 or 1944
Stage a facist coup in the soviet union that should finish in 14th feb 1946
use your troops MANUALLY otherwise you will not win
The usa will most likely captilate the soviet union
take as much as you can (did I mention naval battles and aviation battles?)
if tannu tava is released from the soviet union then annex them
Wait for the coup to finish
The Russian federation will be half of the size and be at war with the Russian Empire
go to war with china cause they will most likely be released
You will go to war with the russian federation and eventually the comintern (reborn by eastern germany) whether you like it or not
call in your allies
get divisions from them
If bulgaria is your allie WHICH IT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SHOULD CAUSE THEY ARE AWESOME ALLIES then help them in their war against romania
manually use yoru troops to invade the russian federation and romania
you will be at war with hungary cause of the russian federation
Manually take hungarys capital
if you have access into france then plan an invasion to polish peoples republic cause they will be brought into the war as your enemy
invade them
invade east germany manually
naval invasion into thais people repub
your entire army manually invade the russian federation
IF YOU CAN THEN YOU CAN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NUKE THEM YEAAAAAAAHHH

Then you've don the following:
Ended ww2 but not helping the germans
Defeat the soviet union and take about 70 - 80% of their land in ww3 cause they cause ww3 around in 1943
Defeat the comintern reborn

my tacitc was to just go full scale war against soviet union but I also had couple allies like italy and japan and btw the funny thing is that the soviets put up n good fight but they will be crushed if you attack before 1940
