Detailed instructions on how to UPGRADE Rocket Sites.
So, you have researched Rocket engines and have the basic guided rocket (V1), and you have built 1 or 2 "Rocket Sites in a state near your front line. Each Rocket Site built in a state will give you up to 100 Rockets each. After the war starts, you assign the rockets to bomb the enemy, and you feel underwhelmed by the lack of results (LOL). Since the V1 was simply set to fly on a specific compass bearing for a pre-determined length of time before shutting off its engine and falling to the ground and detonating (Boom), they were not very good at hitting anything smaller than a city. Shoot enough of them though, and you might just hit something.

IMHO, they are free strat bombing for the cost of building the rocket site since they refill rockets as needed.

So, you research the next level of rocket engine to get the V2 rocket (Yay). But, when you go to the Rocket Site Icon in the state where you built your 2 rocket sites, it still shows only 200 V1 rockets (which you cannot seem to change in any fashion, BOOO!). So, in order to prevent you from "Ragequitting", or never again building rocket sites, here's how to upgrade them.

1. From the default map mode (F1), click on the state the rocket sites are in.

2. In the area showing all the buildings in that state that have been built or are currently being built, find one of the rocket site buildings (assuming you built 2 of them).

3. Put your mouse cursor over the building and you will see a small circle in the lower right of the building with a red X in it. Clicking on the Red X will bring up the delete building confirmation dialog. Confirm the deletion, and then start the construction of a new rocket site (which will have V2's in it). If you are at war, you will only be able to delete 1 building in a state per month, so lather, rinse, repeat as necessary to upgrade all sites in all states.

The same process applies to any other building in a state. If you need to delete a civilian factory to make space for a nuclear reactor for example.

I hope this helps, since I looked in the forums for any good info on the process and didn't find much at all, other than the advice to not build sites untill you haved maxed out rocket engines. Either way works, we all play the game differently. Have fun.

This information was for version 1.3, and may not be relevent as of patch 1.4.
