Help with Millenium Dawn

I can't seem to put any planes with my new Aircraft Carrier, and there doesn't seem to be any naval aircraft in the tech tree either. Are they just useless?
Also why do so many nations start with no navy whatsoever?

1st Question: I assume they just aren't done yet and it is frustrating that almost every nation has little to no navy.

A few of the plane classes can be put on aircraft carriers by default. Fighters and Maritime planes for sure can. If they're not showing up properly, make sure you aren't using any other mods with MD.

CAS is the only plane I've found that can go on carriers in Modern Day, I think. And I seem to recall the maritime patrol aircraft being worthless. Over a thousand of them running port strikes and naval attack in Southern England/English Channel, and only one ever made it in to attack the ports. England had a navy, and it certainly wasn't out in force in the Channel as that was patrolled by my fleet, so what gives?
