So can we get our money back?
I know this is gonna die since there's no actual legislation to support it, but seriously this is borderline criminal. Some people paid real world dollars for this, and while "removing support" is fine and expected, yanking away the entire infrastructure and leaving players with ZERO ways to play a game they purchased is extortionate and shameful.

I look forward to Ross Scott discussing the same thing to no avail.

As if you would have played it after 2021

Some people are still playing the game even now, and besides the main point I'm trying to make is about accountability for game devs.
I personally agree that Battleborn is a bad game and while I won't miss it in the slightest, too many developers are pushing out games that they can kneecap whenever they want leaving their playerbase with nothing and that needs to change. Developers need to be held accountable for when they drop the ball on constructing a framework that will either let players continue to run a game after developers drop support, or make a return on players investments.

I think that we all must write about refund on wteam and on 2k tech support. I pre-order this game with all DLC, and wanna have what we already buy.

the game was online only, that was the main reason why i did not buy it. You only have yourself to blame.

Almost felt like buying a washing machine and a few years later the people who sold me the washing machine took it away because that line of washing machines didn't sell enough.

But hey lessons learnt. I still want a refund if it's possible, but you gotta be a smart consumer these days.

Refunds for situations like this are out of the question

People who bought Lawbreakers never got refunds, Overkill's The Walking Dead, also no refunds. The whole multiplayer/ online genre is a tricky one. Game can go at anytime and consumers left in the dust.

Its basicly companies trying to say "you dont own your product, you have a license to play it... For now" And its complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... The only reason that more companies are not more careful is that a major case defining, that "when you buy a game online(or in the flesh)... you own that game! And if the service shuts down, that there has to be an offline mode so you still get your product." If a major legal case comes along and the customers wins it... Companies WILL make change to their policies on these types of games.

Unfortunately, that is the reality of liveservice games. If the game requires a server to run, you will eventually lose access to it. That's why I don't support/play online-only games.

No the company sold a product and now they are taking it away from people who already paid for it. They could easily release a patch for offline play. The fact that they aren't doing so is THEIR fault NOT the fault of the customers. They probably don't WANT to make the game playable offline because they want to push you into buying other games like Borderlands 3.

Selling someone something and then taking it from them without refunding it so that you can pressure them into buying a replacement is theft.

"Games as a service" is fraud.

Look at EA.
Companies do not wanna keep you playing games where you dont spend $ anymore. Make you to move to the new Battlefield or Borderlands.

Dear consumer... sorry, customer.
Thanks and Good luck with that, and See you at E3! Dont forget to pre-order.

was a rly fun party game at least :first_star:

TLDR All and all, Gearbox or Greedbox, Grindbox or whoever, rather their outsourcing,
anyway, they just refused to deliver a content. :cozycastondeath: (PVE, missions, or not even maps for pvp, or quality)
