What happened to the destroyers, why did they start acting so badly, I have to cancel commands and keep repeating them, also stopped firing.

If you mean for a new game start, you can edit your starting ship to have the MK2 DC in either of the custom starts. You can also add crew (though not a pilot) to your starter ship, but even just one crew member is a few clicks from being your pilot (and letting them deal with landing the first time).

urgently remove the 1 beta 8 hotfix, it completely breaks the behavior of large ships, everything worked fine before it!!! Big ships don't attack stations

i had big trouble yesterday landing with the new flight model and without a docking computer.

^ one of the reasons I skipped out on this beta. That and I don't like getting use to a flight model only to have it change a dozen times. This is one cake I'm going to wait until baked before tasting it.
