depending on the prefered build method these modules will make the basic ship parts, namely thrusters and consumables, out of the typical resources required by that build method.
however, the very moment you can build something that does not belongs to the build method, like argon shields, split engines, etc., you will need to stock up on the materials these parts are made out of.
if you don't intend to build non terran ships with non terran equipment you either manually manually reduce the ware allocation for the unwanted wares to 1 (zero is impossible) or you don't buy the blueprints in the first place.
if you want to mix and match ships as you please however... the only solution is to accept foreign cpmponents into your ship producer.
I cannot actually build ships from the fab bay. I was assuming it need the Field Coils and Shield Components to function but I am just unable to build ships. I have all the terran blueprints I need but when I right click on the station Build Ships is grayed out. I want to pump out terran ships for a conquest but I am unable to build ships at my own shipyards.
and thats all that matters.
now go and churn out as many ships as you desire and make the universe yours... or make as much money with these ships as you need.
