Erlking plot/mission(s)?

So without disclosing any other spoilers relating to this ship, is there a story/plot mission to capture this ship?

I've put off capturing it because i thought it'd be a pivotal thing (like the split Raptor) but so far havent encountered a plot for it.

The Avarice plot drops a few hints, to make sure that you don't miss the ship, but it's not directly involved in a plot. It's supposed to be obtainable from the very start, even for players who don't want to play any of the plots.

You're gonna need to bring an army. I've thrown over 600 marines at it so far and it's still not mine. Despite the last try it's boarding strength was 120 and mine was over 1900 and it still failed.

I suppose there is random difficulty for Erlking boarding. I boarded it with Shuyaku. There were <3-5> 3-star, up to 10 2-start marines at the boarding crew and rest are 1-1.5-star vets from VIG shipyard. And they wiped out defenders with may be 40% losses. I didn't even notice any major difference compare to boarding Asgards.

I board mine using 3 Barbarossa and 1 Osaka, multi ship mass spamming it with 295 marines. It's well worth mess.

Not so much a dent with Vigour Syn Rep

Since I practically "sneak" it out of Keepsake.

Worth noting the script dialogue can be an annoyance during boarding, As they would only trigger when player are within proximity to Keepsake.

I boarded it from beginning, 1 Shuyaku with max marines.
I just fly next to it at maximum travel drive speed, pause the game when I'm passing close to the earlking, launch all pods, get out of there ^^

I tend to forget boarding pods dont exit from your ship and instead just spawn 1km away from it.

I'm currently in story locked -20 rep with VIG due to the ending choice and not yet destroying the ice refinery, so i'll pick up the ship before i complete the epilogue.

I did pay someone 15mil to clear my name with VIG but apparently they took my money and ran, so i'll complete the alt way of getting VIG to stop harrassing me.

don't take the ship while you are at -20 with VIG, unless you have a massive fleet.
The station will engage the earlking and then swarms of S fighters will come with barbarossa's and they will destroy the ship you will have to rebuild it

That's awkward... Since most of us just nap the ship when we don't even active in any plot, let alone a -20 rep with VIG.

well first time I boarded it was during the plot, I was at -20 rep and I thought my fleet was strong enough to take any of those Vig swarms (had like 15 destroyers and 200 fighters...)
I've been fighting for an hour around the earlking trying to disengage from the fighting but it's engines got destroyed, I think I must have killed around 150 fighters on my own I had 15 Katana's not far away and I was teleporting to the next katana when I loose the one I'm flying...
I also lost all my fighters and half the destroyers and the Earlking...

Think I pushed FOCW a little too much for VIG xD but the fight was damn good with a HOTAS ^^

I blasted the station it told me and they just kept coming. I had no choice but to pay them off.
