Terran/Yaki plot dead end

I just saved the pioneer mining group from the posse, followed them, and am told to speak to a 'customs officer' for the mission "Astronauts, Champions, Truth Seekers". There is no waypoint to a customs officer, docking on the nearby station doesn't give me any highlighted person to speak with. flying around doesn't give me any ship to talk to.

Where is this customs officer? Did the AI kill them or their station off a while back and now the plot is dead?

Yeah, sounds like the person or the station is no longer there.

In my playthrough, it directs me to a station where there is a "Custom Office" from the elevator panel, inside the Custom Office floor there should be a person like a station manager to talk to

The mission design is not dynamic enough to switch. I'm afraid it is stuck for good. I hope you have a earlier save to roll back to...
