Report a translation problem
The default ones are not random. Its possible some AI might abandon their ship during AI on AI combat but I have no confirmation that is possible right now.
as soon as the mission generated the ship is spawned somewhere on the map.
if you find it before you accept the mission it'll be claimable.
if you accept the mission find the ship and abort the mission it will still have a pilot in it and therefore unclaimable the easy way.
you could potentially savescum it if you save before accepting the mission, accept, check for the ships location, reload and get the ship. i haven't tested this one though.

Now knowing that I could have sold the destroyer where it sat would have been helpful. It took me two hours to get that ship out of the system. (Including twenty minutes just inside of the gate out, waiting for the repair drones to fix the engines.)
Way too vague for a clue :P.
i haven't found your osprey's though.
