Hyperion DLC Price Guesser
Since DLC is always a hot topic in recent times, i want to invite the X4 community to a little pastime activity.

Goal here is, to estimate the price for the Hyperion DLC on release in your own currency.

Since 1 number would be boring, i want to invite you to state a desired price and a real estimate, for how much you think will it cost on launch.

Let me begin with mine:

Desired Price: 3€ (+3€ for soundtrack)
Estimated Price: 8.99 € (+5.99€ for soundtrack) (it has to be something .99)

Let me see your guess!

Going to bend the rules a bit here.

For one ship, I'd be happy paying $3.
I'd be fine paying $5.
I expect it will be $7.
I'm not paying $10.
I'm fearing it will be $15.

The soundtrack is already selling for $10, which is not a good sign. I've never seen a soundtrack cost more than the product it's for. They might be really over valuing the music here and using that to prop up the lack of other content. I don't really value the region unless there is some unique mechanic to it, and I expect the "quest chain" is just a glorified "go here to get it."

but when the british pound have more value... other must pay more $ / € ?
or i make something wrong ? :lunar2019deadpanpig:

No you're right and I'm an idiot. If it costs me £7.99 then it's going to cost the EU and North America $9.99 at least. Sorry. I'm a bit dopey today.

Dammit Gibbo, you should have left that alone! I had that down as fiendishly cynical sarcasm until you corrected it, lol.

I just went and checked, no, it would be £6.69, €7,99, $7.99

On Steam, the default price is set in $ afaik, and everything else is derived from that, which is why some games dont have $/€ prices equal, despite VAT being included in € pricing, but not in $.

Of course, egosoft knows this, and will adjust € price to match $ price, as they always have done - but they never did for pound in the past, so you will get steams default conversion rate.

I don't mind a bit of price gauging from my favourite devs. Last time I look you got one and a half dollars to the pound, but that was months ago.

Obviously, but what do you think will be the price tag?

Free.

I'd say 1/2 of what a regular Ego DLC should be, since twice a year per the roadmap.
I'd be fine with that. Ego isn't a a big studio and they got to keep the lights on.
Wolfsblut 16 FEB a las 2:27
1 ship, 1 sector?

clearly a 14,99€ pricetag again.
