And yea me opinion is based on this, But i hope they keep or Introduce a Button in menu settings, to keep the old fly model on. Or to be able to play in a version where the fly model is like it was till now.
Updating the flight model can only bring it into line with what the rest of the game has to offer.
And it will mean different ships will now be far more important. As it is now just need fastest S-M ship and ignore handling - just turn off FA turn and re-enable FA - total BS - car physics in space is just a joke.
Will mean ships will now feel different in more ways - this can only be a outstanding thing !.
Arcade flight model has had it's day - finally moving towards a model that the X universe finally deserves.
Are you insane? Why forming an opinion by playing/testing if you can watch a vid and copy/past the creators view of things? C'mon, don't be silly
So couldn´t be that bad if i could do it, you can too. Give it a try.
Thank You all.
Best Regards
I don't believe that Captain Snuggles guy.
He makes videos and then deletes them right after. Does he use mods maybe? Maybe not a reliable source? Only the egosoft website knows.
The dev is also testing the game, don't worry. but his feedback is good. :)
But that doesn't mean he's always right. Remember he is just a guy playing and testing the game like you and me, he is just using his platform to draw the developers attention to things he thinks should be fixed, which is a good thing.
I watched the video yesterday and while I agree with a lot of his points, I still think it is a massive exaggeration to say that some ships feel like they are flying through wet cement.
But he is absolutely right in his conclusion that some areas need more balancing.
We should get as many players as possible to test things, so don't just watch a video and say "oh no that looks bad or wow that looks good", test it for yourself instead.
Back up your saves, install the beta, use the creative gamestart to give you some ships you want to toy around with and just give it a try for yourself.
Egosoft needs feedback on how you feel about the ships you fly in the way you play because we all play differently and feel differently about things.
Only the AI behavior could be a bit better.
It amazes me really.
It's one thing to watch someone's views on a video, but one of the biggest mistakes a person can do is then take that video content's words as gospel and go preaching it everywhere without actually knowing the truth of it, especially when it comes to a game you can check yourself. It's dumb.
ALWAYS go and check for yourself to find out if the info is correct and if you can't certainly don't go preaching it around as if it's fact. Even if you can't try it yourself you should listen to multiple sources on the subject, not just one. This stands for EVERYTHING, not just youtube, but even the mainstream lot, even on tv.
Also, the M ships are no longer just bigger fighters, they fly and feel very different from the actual S-class fighters.
Before the changes, I personally wouldn't bother flying anything large, but the increased boost speeds, the changes to the travel drives, and the decoupling of boost and shields now make playing with L ships a valuable choice. So I actually fly around a lot in a Sapporo or fly my Colossus myself.
