Finally got VR to work with ReShade
Wow, I have no idea why the devs couldn't have made a simple guide to implementing 3-D in VR. I was going to return this game today until I tried Reshade. What a difference. You guys really dropped the ball on this one. 2 or 3 clicks and almost perfect 3-D.....

Maybe it wasnt a priority or even something they wanted to do? No offence but instead of complaining about something they probably didnt think of or wasnt a priority help the community out and make a guide then since you obviously figured it out. Once again sorry if i came off as being rude or offended you that wasnt my intent.

The devs adamantly refuse to implement VR support and refuse to listen to any counterarguments. Meanwhile the game itself would've been almost perfectly VR compatible if they just enabled VR camera.
Is it real 3d or just a big screen?

Real 3d. Meaning you'll see depth.

There is a big difference in just rendering out the game in VR and making it actually playable in VR.
Making a good VR game involves so much more than just enabling stereoscopic rendering.
XR VR showed how much effort it was to make a X VR game and it did not get simpler with X4 ;)

Wait. You have this and no link or how to do it? Seriously?

Show us some evidence because I sure as heck would like to run this in VR if it actually works.

Thankyou again. I'll see how it works out though a proper version by Egosoft will be best I think. Had the Cyberpunk 2077 of something like this and well it was not ideal. But it's good to see modders trying to make it happen. eventually modders WILL perfect it if Egosoft never bothers again.

I tried it a long time ago, but that was a bit different guide and that one rendered UI text unreadable. Using reshade is a hack and is quite suboptimal. Sort of gives you a glimpse of how things could've been. Cyberpunk was a bit better converted, I believe, but had that problem where running it in VR could melt your PC.

Works ok.

Problem with it looking a little blurry and pixelated, it's nowhere near a native or UEVR title in terms of graphical clarity. If RebirthVR is a solid A-+A, then X4 with reshade would be a -C-D. This is maxing out the graphics and aliasing options on a 4090 with a Pimax Crystal.

3D works ok though, it certainly gives the VR vibes. Good enough, but any money for a native VR mod or the proverbial money sack toward EGO to implement VR.

By the way, to go slightly off topic, how do you find the Pimax Crystal?

Great. Had it for a year, no inclination to upgrade until there's a true 4K per eye something available.

It's monitor like quality with native VR, decent mods ,and UEVR stuff.
