is there a specific type of ship ur asking about?
For my miners i usually go with more drones for hull, not sure if 3 more mining drones makes a difference but usually try to get that, also helps use my blue chassie mods.
Just anything in general what players have found useful in their games.
I've just started upgrading my fleet.
Don't know what to use lol
Slasher is really nice and good thing that it's a Green upgrade, in which mats are plentiful.
cowboy(basic) or annihilator(exceptional) are without a doubt the strongest turret mods because you can potentially get up to 99% reload speed on both that essentially doubles the dmg of the turret. like you said overheat means nothing on a turret. the downside is you may have to reroll the mod to get the best results .. which consume insane amount if high energy catalysts
with a *perfect* annihilator mod you can get like 30% dmg increase and 99% reload speed which is currently the highest bonus to dmg you can get on a turret with an exception for beam turrets.
i actually got near *perfect* rolls on all the turrets of my erlking with annihilator exceptional mods. turning it into a whirlwind of death that kill's Asgard's in 1 pass.
just for reference, Slasher can also get 100% reload, ontop of 50% dmg boost, cowboy only does reload.
Annihilator is better in a sense because u can get rotation speed as well, but with less max dmg at 34% but its much harder to perfect roll 3 stats instead of 2.
you can use a site like https://www.qsna.eu/x4/modifications/ to see the range of each modifaction.
Expediter is great for main weapons that use bullets if you want extra range.
now i gotta go back and test them all lol
yep your right .. not sure how i overlooked that although my testing im going by is from a long long time ago.
so yeah slasher is the way to go .. its actually better than the exceptional weapon mod which is kinda funny. the only thing that may be helpful for the exceptional version is rotation speed .. which may be helpful in some situations.
but slasher is gunna be better in OOS with good rolls for sure
my mesons stream katana's just got a little more mean =)
there is some easy ways to acquire a lot of mods in case u didnt know .. sent u a PM
Green mod seem to just roll better then most exceptional mod
The amount of time I roll an exceptional mod trying to get the perfect roll is annoying
Not so much annoyance for green mod though
They seem to hit that high note way more often
Drag mod for all ships
i noticed that as well
I think they're still going to die just as fast but at least I got to use most of my upgrade loots lol
And OMG!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Cargo Concealment purple mod on traders!
Farming purple chassis mods has been very slow. Do you build a defence platform near the BUCs to farm it?
I'm trying to farm purple weapons and shield mods for my new personal destroyer (Oddy E - I put the Sinister Fume Paint Job on it and loving the submarine look while flying it in 3rd person). The RNG on missions has not been good for me lately.
I do miss the machine gun main batteries on my old Behemoth though ...
They are easy and recycle often
Always look at the mission briefing for individual reward as well
