Mines...What's the best way to clear them out?
So what is the best way to clear out mines? If you set turrets to point defense, does that work? I'm thinking about clearing out the Xenon Sector that has bunches of them. Just for clarification, it's the sectors next to Holy Order space, just can't remember the name, and yes I did get the destroyer out of there.

If the mines are part of a hazardous area (like the Xenon sector next to HOP's capital sector) you don't, even if you could clear a portion of the area of mines (by shooting them manually) they would just respawn the moment you leave the area and return.

Those mines only work if you're in the area, the computer controlled ships are not affected by them if they're running on the "simplified" out of sector simulation.

They keep respawning...but they are friend/foe mines so taking over the Sector solves the problem for the owning race/player.

if you are talking about faulty logic, those mines are part of the environment.
you will never be able to clear them out and have to build in the safe pockets that can be found within that minefield.

those mines are also dumb tracker mines that will follow everything that gets too close to them.

on the bright side, you don't need to worry about them too much.
this mnefield is only present when you are personally in this sector, the very moment you are not personally there they vanish and the trade routes are absolutely safe to use.

Yep, I was clearing out Faulty Logic. Been blowing up the Xenon bases as much as I can lately.

a little advise... try to keep them alive and cornered in a system that provides them with ore and silicon.

the game will get boring without them and they are the only source of some very valuable inventory items.

Don't worry about that. The Xenon have basically almost destroyed one of the split factions themselves.

my poor xenon are getting wiped out everywhere without me even helping, HOP have nearly wiped out their corner of space, ant also closing in on said sector, argon are well on their way to wiping towards yaki, boron have cleared into split space and are now clearing the xenon in the north, the teladi are seiging around their space, the only bastion left are the few around split space, i need to figure out where i want a humble little section for xenon to thrive so i can farm them, its rare i see the npc factions doing so well.
