Any significant disadvantages of losing 12 rep points with the Vigor Syndicate?
I managed to get 14 rep by sneakingly having 3 mining ships selling Ice in Windfall Summit I and have also managed to make a lot of money this way. The occasional annoyance from this however is that sometimes the police patrolling the sector catch me and I lose a bunch of rep points (like 10). So I just avoid that by reloading my save but this time I overlooked that it had happened and the newest save I can go back to is 1 hour of progress away. Shall I go back and start from that hour or just continue my ice mining and let the rep build up again?

As a side note, I've just realised how laborious the Boron questline is! I thought I was getting close to finishing all Royal Errands but it turns out I need to get around 13 mil more to secure the Blueprints required for one mission and I also need to improve my Terran rep points which are currently at -15 even though I have never interacted with them. :steambored:

Vigor can be alittle frusterating to get rep with so ideally its best not to hurt it too much if they are a concern for you, once you get +20 rep as well they no longer care if you have illegal wares in their space, they will look the other way.

you could try to lure xenon or other factions they hate within range of one of their stations and blow it up for bonus rep, they also do offer some missions.
Remember xenon, sca and other factions ships get pulled in if you travel far enough away from a sectors center, gives certain options.

Thank you very much! I decided to just build it up again so will look forward to getting it to 20. Currently I have to manually sell items with each of my ships because they are illegal. So if I have 20 rep with Vigor does that mean my ships will autosell and not require individual instruction?

with vigor once you get +20 all restrictions from trading water or food is removed, at least from what i understand, my ships seem to happily trade it and its not even listed as an illegal good anymore.
Doing any of this prior to +20 is a risk, i think theres a mechanic that selling illegal wares always has a chance of revealing the transaction and getting you a rep hit? Not sure if that counts if u have cargo conealment mods on your ships though, need to do more testing in that regard, i typically avoid selling illegal goods in sectors where its forbidden even with my large black markets, my traders seem to happily trade Maja dust to argon and teladi for example but dont think they automaticlly sell it to paranid space.

That is good to know when/if I reach +20. I am currently selling them ice to slowly build rep. I have small miners with the mirage mod installed, and haven't been caught once. However, pilots refuse to AutoTrade illigal wares, so whenever they're full, every once in a while I go to map view and order them to sell at particular stations.

have you tried luring xenon or sca from edges of the sectors to their stations, also could be worth looking around their stations for some easy missions, some usually involve killing traffic at other faction stations but usually that rep hit is minimal. You can also often get killing quests from vigor that are easily to finish. Trade is reliable but it is quite slow.
Vigor also have a huge demand for hull parts and claytronics, i recommend setting up some basic traders buying from riptide and selling to vigor, i did that in my last game quite reliably

I have done a few missions. Sometime I might have to dedicate some time in looking for more missions from them. I actually have one that's been in my queue for a long time to destroy 11 FAF ships. Funnily enough I've yet to see a single one in this playthrough. Luring Xenon ships around isn't one of my strong points. I'll probably focus more on their missions now that mostly everything else is completed.

On my side, because i trade with all the nation in game, i don't love to broke always my head in saying, for this one this thing are not legal, for this other one this and that are not legal butr the other illegal stuff are legal, pfffff...,

so, i have trying to find a solution, to be able to transport illegal thing they are not illegal but controled by parasatif thief such as Vigor territory, and i found a solution in making some test with small police in different sector,

In the option of the thing you can add to the ship (sorry, i don't remember the name in english), but when you need to go in dwarf to put mods on your ship, such as reduce the pound, firng more far, ect..., they have one for the body of the ship they give you the possibility to hide the illegal thing in your ship from any scanning, and for now in my test it's work, even if they scan they view nothing and let's me pass, i don't remember the name but it's one of the mods in the 3 level of thing you can unlock, and if you have the material to make it, it's give 100% chance to hide illegal thing in your ship, and again, for now in my test it's work, but i have not all tested with all the illegal material, i never use the illegal way to make bad thing to people, but making illegal thing again a bunch of parasite thief it's not illegal to help people...,

anyway, with this cload they hide your load from scanning, (in your ship and the thing on you) now, no need to broke my head and i can travel freely in peace, even the parasite thief from the group of green asss..... are not able to scan your ship and asking you to drop your cargo because they are not able to scan...

If all you're interested in is the reputation i'd slap some Tenacity mods on a bunch of scouts and have them trade hull parts between the RIP scrap stations in Avarice and the VIG wharf and shipyard on repeat orders.

No need to deal with the risk of trading illegal wares for it and you get RIP reputation at the same time.
