P.S. It's fairly amazing they can pull that off. Going by sector made it so ships going in and out of the areas always went through a gate, which lets them conveniently vanish for a few seconds if the game is too busy with other stuff. That's not so easy when you're talking about a volume. I wonder what happens on the borders? What if there's a dogfight right on the edge, with ships popping in and out of each!?
P.P.S. Strange that the Kha'ak hit harder when you're away. They use beam weapons, which don't miss much anyway.
As for Khaak doing more damage where you fighting a Khaak station? Being OOS means the game no longer checks if a turret has line of fire, just the range, so all station turrets can fire at once where they couldn't in high attention.
Those can easily kill destroyers.
