How do I throw Dal Busta out the nearest airlock?

Mostly joking because I know he's a critical part of so many plots, but I hate (or love to hate) his "McKinsey & Company" attitude toward everything.

I'm not a fan of the character either. I understand he makes a useful ally with his contacts, but *IF* I were in the same situation in real life he'd have to walk a fine line or else suffer a sudden chill just beyond the airlock.

Yeah. Wow. I'm using the No Story mod because I despise the Boso the Clown story line. Sadly, Dal Busta is still in my game. I was hoping I'd be rid of him as well as Boso.

Well, just ignore him.

what does the no story mod do? just don't do the story

Well yeah there is that I suppose. Can you continue building your base and do research without following the Boso story? I have always assumed you needed to do the quest to progress. Can I ignore Boso as I do with Dal?

You only need Dal Busta if you want to finish Paranid and Split plots. And getting him requires work, as you need to finish HAT plot to make him appear. So if you do not do the HAT plot, no Dal Busta.

Boso does not really have a story to follow once you get him into HQ. His main role is floating in the tank and teleporting HQ. However, he is required for terraforming and segaris plot, plus he participates in boron plot. Aside from that you only need him for research, and you really want to research teleporting, all the way to maximum, because it is a great way for getting yourself unstuck.

the moment you unlock the research tab you don't need to talk to him ever again, and you can ignore the rest of his messages if you don't want to do terraforming or the timelines epilogue stuff

I've been complaining for a long time about the Boso story, and nobody has ever mentioned that point. If they told me about this five years ago it would have saved me a lot of angst.

I don't recall having reached research. I think I was disgusted with Boso before reaching that point. I could be wrong, or I may have missed it. Maybe I'll watch some vids about the story and see what I missed. At any rate, I'm happy playing without the story, so I don't think I'm missing out on anything at this point.

I've never finished the paranid or split storylines and you can see how long i've played (a lot of that is star wars interworlds though to be fair)

So bottom line.... if I don't pursue the Boso story line what will I miss out on? Will I have access to the whole game?

Boso is intertwined in a lot of research and plots. Even the plot involving the yacht in TOA.

nope not really.

Multiple universe shaping plots and unlocks need Boso,
Research needs him aswell.

If you do customgame with anything completet/shaped the way you want hes still yelling every 15-30 mins "ASSSISSSSTAAAANT", PHQ with Boso and Busta in it is a must for those starts aswell.... super weird if you just want to RP as some pirate or small starter merchant or such...

If you ignore him no ship-mods, no-"diplomacy" *cough*, even less impact on the universe, and some things like Kingdom end unlock is just not possible without him at all (unless you pick their gamestart)

Cant really get rid of the two, Ego loves to facefist you with their NPCs storys and voiceacting.

If stuck with two NPC's atleast make it so you can make some conversation with him.
Instead of: "hello there" and "how you doin"
Let me ask Dal: How are the paranid doin right now? Any details on some stuff going on in the network? What about your wife, she hates you that much huh? What is the newest juice in the galaxy?

And..

Hey Boso I have a new tank for you wich now the size of a factory so you can go and swimm in your feces there. Or hey dude, let's get on the luxury yacht and do some exploring together, tell me more about that 7 stars thing. Tell me more about the stuff Kaori said about that Sohnen tech.

So much lore to tell and what not.
