do L ships repair while docked?

Do they repair if they are just sitting docked? was thinking of taking my recently captured destroyer to dock while it repaired safely and slowly

Last I checked, they did. But, even better, if you own an auxiliary ship, you can bring it along and repair captured ships on location.

If I remember correctly, as long as you have some service crew, it will repair over time, albeit very slowly. However, if you'd like to accelerate the process, you can go into your spacesuit and repair the part yourself. I mostly do this for destroyed engines

Only the equipment dock and shipyard could repair L ships. Or aux ship as others mentioend.

Unless you have 5 star service crews, they won't fix to 100%.

While an L/XL ship will self-repair if it has service crew aboard (the maximum % repaired determined by average crew skill), since this is a captured ship, do you actually have any service crew aboard to do the repairs as it sits?

Personally, I fly captured ships immediately back to a shipyard and just pay for repairs and refit rather than wait a really long time for the ship to repair itself.

They do repair surface elements, but not the hull itself.

I space suit repair captured ships while working on something else close by. Mouse makes a decent space bar holder :)
