Trying to build the PHQ
So, I've been having fun with the game, setting up mining and trading, do missions and stuff.

I have neglected the PHQ until now.

I just looked and SCA has built a base just outside the range of the PHQ. Not only that, but they have a destroyer out there and it's being attacked by a half dozen Khaak.

I'm afraid if I fund the station and get materials out there, it will be constantly attacked. Maybe I need to build my own destoyer and fleet and send it out there to defend the PHQ.

Did I wait too late to get things started out there?

Thanks.

Neither SCA or Khaak are direct threats to your station:

- Khaak tend to limit themselves to attacking mineral miners (ore, silicon and nividium, but not ice), but will fight back if opposed;
- SCA harass trade ships ("drop your cargo!") but usually don't attack them (depending on the trader's stance on harassment); when they interact with stations, it's to hack their storage to eject wares for stealing.

lol if you have Khaak there then you have left it a while. As conrado.lacerda said you should be fine. But just watch your M miners if you have any. The Khaak will get them. Saving up more credits and buying L miners will solve this as the Khaak barely scratch the paint on a L miner. SCA in that sector will generally leave you alone, but may attack any traders you have assigned on your station.

The station SCA built will probably get destroyed? They do have a pirate base in Heretic's End, That should survive all game? Any other stations they build get taken out. In my games it's normally HOP who do that.

Id leave them be. Good place to sell all those *cough* goods....

ALL THE WARES btw. The entire storage gets emptied and is then laying around there. And theres nothing you can do about that ether, since they mask they're own signal so they appear neutral, even when they hacked the station.
Unless you look at the map all the time and catch them to manually mark them as enemy.

It's not everything, but I don't know the exact %; it's enough to hurt.

They reveal themselves as SCA after the hacking, so if you want revenge for the heist you can edit the fire authorizations so that your subordinates fire on SCA ships on sight (and install some turrets on the station).

I have and they dont do that, might be because my save is also ancient.
They quite litterly dump all my wares from that storage take the stuff to fill they're cargo and then fly off.
My Stations are all equiped fully with turrets and defence ... err parts, sinc eits my sector theres also a ton of police and defence forces around, im starting to think that ill have to get a new save going ..... but i really dont want to.
Ok, thanks for the replies.

I don't like SCA at my door. My miners and traders are constantly harassed by them everywhere else. I really don't like them.

I have not been to a station and seen all their cargo floating around. Do pirates just do that to the player's stations? If I attack a small SCA ship stealing from me, their destroyer may turn red also, and I'd be in a mess then.

I bought a Behemoth E destroyer last night. About 12 mil. That leaves me with 50 mil. Now I need to buy fighters to compliment it. I'm going to send them out there to safeguard the PHQ while it's being built and goods are shipped in. Without some kind of defense, I can see things going south in a hurry.

Perhaps I can attack the SCA destroyer and take it over. I've heard that's possible. That would be great!

You can scan it to see how much crew it has. That gives you an idea how many marines you should bring.

There are some L freighters that have very high crew capacity (200 or so?). Maybe get one of those. You can change the service crew to marines and send them to board SCA destroyers when you encounter one.
Currently the Cobra is the best M for boarding operations. We shall see if the DLC ship makes the cut or not soon enough as its advertised for boarding.
Get rookie marines and start hunting for SCA Transports like the Heron E in Silent Witness XI and XII. After you have more than a few of those you should start to have some decent marines for boarding other SCA vessels.

Khaak could absolutely plink at stations with no turrets around version 6, potentially bringing them down. Learned it around the time I built my first booze factory in xenon sectors. I've also seen Khaak knock out HOP out of their sectors.
