Every time you switch to a different ship or go in a Timelines mission, you need to press F2.
Is there an option to always have it as External View?
When you sit in the pilot/Commander seat of a ship, your camera stays in the cockpit but I prefer to use the External View via F2 to fly and having to reach out for the keyboard that is far from my HOTAS is getting old after 4 or 5 hours.
Simple question: Can the Default View when piloting be changed.
Answer: Seems like no.
After I asked this here, I bound a key on the HOTAS to change to the external view.
All I wanted was for the camera to be always be external, without having to use a hotkey.
Is it so hard to just press f2? I mean considering what you're asking compared to what is expected of you the player your argument falls a bit flat.
And what argument? All I asked was if there was a way to just set it as default. I also fail to see why teleporting would mess anything but I just got back into X4 since I barely played after Split Vendetta
Sure, but why does that invalidate a question about if it's possible to change the default camera for piloting?
