That doesn't say your collection is finished. Don't worry you already have these added to your collection now does it? No.
Then its not a "Collectors Edition" I can state that how I want because the proof is right there. I can state it however many times I want, because again the proof is right there. Belgoray didn't answer that he only said you can buy the others.
That's not the point of this discussion, so zpc stick to the topic.
* Community of Planets Edition includes all currently available DLCs and nothing else.
* Collector Edition also includes soundtracks and Yasur.
* Anniversary includes all games, DLCs and soundtracks ever released.
* Hyperion is included in neither of them, as it isn't released yet.
* Those bundles update when a new DLC is released.
So, what is the issue?
In my case I have 6 out of 6 for community of planets and 6 out of 13 for collectors. If you're filling DLC gaps you should grab Community of Planets while it is on sale.
Fixed that for you :)
The impression I have is that you may have bought collector edition in the past and expected all future DLCs to be added to it automatically. That's not how it works in practice, and that is usually called "season pass". Where you pay significantly bigger amount to "save" on future updates.
The key issue whether your original purchase promised all future updates in clear text. Most likely it didn't. In absence of such promise you can't really expect all future DLCs to be automatically granted. Such misunderstanding could be frustrating, of course, but absense of such offer indicates absence of a promise of inclusion of future DLCs.
Basically:
* Item clearly promised, but not delivered? --> seller's issue
* Item is not clearly promised, but that's strongly implied it is there --> arguable.
* Item is not promised anywhere in writing, and you expect it --> well, that one's on you.
In the previous thread somebody pulled up original preorder text, and it didn't have "all future updates" in it.
It's a nice way to not penalize people who already own the game and 'some' of the bundle contents. Some developers refuse to utilize that type of bundle on their store front, and their discussion boards are always littered with people complaining about it.
The "collection" being completed are those items that are in the bundle, which is why steam calls it "complete your collection". It's bundled item inclusive, not "all content for the game" inclusive.
If you have an issue with the phrasing, you're complaining in the wrong place. You should take it up with Valve in the Steam general feedback discussion area.
Its the collectors edition of the BASE GAME, just like with any other game out there.
<insert big publisher here> trying to upvalue their stupidly overpriced "deluxe 69420 uwu-editins" by putting 1-2 worthless DLCs in them, in the future, doesnt make the x4 one wrong -.-
*********YOUR******** collection... your collection of stuff bought on steam, not THE collection.
===============
If you want teh DLCs, get that cummunity of planets bundle, or just selectively get the DLCs you want.
The fact that the general market seems to require soundtracks if available to be separated because apparently not everyone's going to want the Game OST.
So you buy the Collection that wasn't including the soundtracks or the DLC that was released 2 years later.
Then grumble about the cost to include these future or extra items.
FOCUS!!!!
Collectors Edition. Its TWO WORDS. Y'all can't read two words?
I know I said a lot for you to digest after .
But here lets read this sentence together..
"COMPLETE YOUR COLLECTION!"
Now that we read it together. What you think that means?
That means your collection isn't complete. Therefore , the product sold before all these additional DLC now stay with me here I know its alot to comprehend I'm breaking it down for you.
Wasn't the collector's edition.
What the topic states. Its amazing how I got to break this crap down for y'all who don't stay on topic.
Or Oblivion Collectors edition which did not include Shivering Isles?
I suggest to bring your interpretation to the court. See how that works.
Your current interpretation seems to be that if you collect stamps and buy your first set, all other postal stamps in the world must be destroyed and no stamps should ever be produced, otherwise your collection wouldn't be complete.
It is other way around. You're using an uncommon definition, and everybody else on the forum has been trying to explain this to you. For a year. Unsuccessfully.
Now that I vented my frustration with the lack of basic common sense in this thread, lemme eli5 this to you:
I own a "collectors edition" for X3:TC, which was a limited edition...
THAT is what "collectors edition" means - an edition that is not the normal edition and includes other things like: manual, goodies, and last but not least: the game.
We can just stop calling it "collectors edition" and just say: unlimited limited edition instead xD
The name "collectors edition" comes from a time where the dinosaurs still roamed this ball of dirt we call earth, where games included figurines and other things like steelbook cover and so on - they were named like this, for the collectors of games.
At some point we also had "steelbook editions", which were just like the normal game, but with that hardcover packaging.
that you should get a forum ban for being unreasonable over a very long period of time
Civ 7 is coming out soon. That will be a blank canvas of a game. There will be several major dlc's missing that totally changes the game. People will still buy it on day one and good luck to them. Some act like we will run out of digital copies, but at the same time it's important to support the devs so find your balance and what you're happy with spending. I'll probably spend a bit on civ 7, but not until the major dlcs are out.
