Does progression from the public beta go over to the game when the beta is out of its beta phase

Is the beta a testing environment, or does the progression I make in the beta through the storyline progress to the live version when it is released?

Or should I wait for the live version, and does the save from the beta void itself when the patch is released out of its beta phase?

For example if I make progress in the public beta does that beta save get turned into a normal save when the beta releases out of its beta state, or is it a test environment where all data is wiped when the beta gets a full release?

In general the beta are save game compatible and there should nto be any issues. But its a beta so its not 100% guaranteed, which is why you should back up your saves just to be sure.

Also do we get to keep our beta save when the game goes live, and if we backup the save of our beta save I know its not 100% guaranteed, but it is possible to start off where I left off from the beta when it goes live?
