Does the beta add jump gates?

I'm playing the beta version of the game and there's some active jump gates in my Universe which are not on any of the Universe maps that I've found. In my game there is a gate connecting Ocean of Fantasy to Getsu Fine, just as one example.

I'm just wondering if that is new for the beta, or if all of the maps online are out-of-date, or if there is some other explanation?

Yes, this is all added from the beta. there are new open jg. Also new systems. There are some online maps that have all this added, you would have to find them. Usually one of the first searches.

Thank you! I had been using the one on Roguey's site and the one on the wiki, both are missing these connections. As are the ones in the steam guide's section and the top several 'other' sites when I searched for universe maps.

But now that you have given me the answer that it is new from the Beta, I refined my search to add "up-to-date" and "beta" to the search parameters. Almost all of the results even then are still out of date, but I did find a single reddit post that links to a nexusmods file that is up-to-date.

Quantum Anomaly also has the Beta 7.50 sector map https://www.qsna.eu/x4/map/beta.
They make sure their info is accurate.

Used search parameters 'x4 map beta'

I wouldn't expect Steam guides to be updated until the beta is officially released.

Ahh, thank you for that link! That site is one of the sites I had been using, but there are no links on the site (at least that I saw) to the "beta" information, so I didn't even know they had an up-to-date map. The sidebar map link is the old, outdated one.

Nice to see the Boron are now more closer to the action. If things go sideways, they can get more involved in conflicts siding with their old Argon/Antigonian allies against their historical enemies in the Terrans not to mention the seperate conflict with the Split. Looking at the beta map:

Getsu Fune has a new gate connecting to Ocean of Fantasy. Just hope the Boron in Ocean of fantasy have built up enough before that gate opens up or it could be a feeding frenzy if covert operations is done too soon and the Terrans are too well built up on their economy.

New sectors in Adventure's Promise, Ore Belt, Sanctum Verge, Tempting Fumes and Circle of Deceit. This will eventually bring the Pioneers, Antigone, Boron and Godrealm into contact with each other directly. Looks like Sanctum Verge and Ore Belt are meant to be the flashpoint systems between the side as these two are exactly 2 jumps from each others territories. It will also be interesting if the covert ops storyline did conclude towards a war, what capacity the Godrealm have in that as they are connected to that through the back way to Neptune.

The gate connection between Ocean of Fantasy and Getsu Fune really helps. I started war between TER and ARG/ANT/BOR, and Boron fleets have seen heavy action versus Terrans in Getsu Fune, with defense stations from TER, BOR, and ANT all located in this sector at the same time. PIO is happily trading with BOR as if there was no conflict between the Boron and the Terrans.

It should help with the Ice phase of the Boron terraforming, too.

One of the new sectors had two big Kha'ak stations in it, but the stations hardly did anything. The defense platforms for them would shoot, but no Kha'ak ever showed up for me. <shrug>
