only a few years ago this very community frowned upon even the faintest rumor and the mere idea to bring this genre to anything else but PC.
now look were we are now... no matter in wich forum you look, everyone, their neighbor and their dog asks if there are plans to bring this, that, solitaire and minesweeper to console...
what happened the the golden PC masterrace days? am i truly this old?
I'm with ya man. I've seen the changes too. The powers-that-be succesfully convinced these people that a gamepad and consoles are 'better', and it's 'convenient'...
But at what price for the PC great games of the Golden Age of gaming?
But no one cares.
Yes, yes you are.
I made those jokes at the age of 14, thats half my life ago....
While i would never consider "gaming" on something that costs less then my mainboard+cooler, barely half of a propper GC... talking about PC Masterrace is besides the "youghfull" way to throw NS slang arround...
Just old...
Like... 2015 old.
Thats pre covid mancave BS
Consoles are a cheap way to get into a popcultural booming "hobby" while not having to worry about upgrades or ROI for atleast one "generation".
I can totally imagine a X port, much like the Cities:Skylines 1 port.
Downgraded to near unplayabillity, memed by PCs to hell and back....
But sold more then the PC version...
Aslong as Ego reinvests the ConsoleConnyMonney into the maingame let them fund it...
Few years back if i look to me self in time, i was me on console NEVER ....well the tides are changeing
Have a good day!
Cheers
an intel Alienware exclusive release?
Could be THE candidate for 2025 game awards (if not developed in china).
PC will always rule over consoles, it has too. Consoles always release outdated compared to PC and no matter how beefy they make them, within a few months to a year they're nowhere near as good. I have an XBox, the series X... but I just returned back to PC for games just like this one and a few others.
I'm not sure if there's a point of porting to those platforms, Basically I recall that there are issues with licensing for those devices, which require buying dev kits and NDAs. I'm also not sure if PS5/XBox even supports vulkan which X4 is currently using.
The drastical price increase for new gen hardware outprices many gamers. Thats also why you see so many people complain about 60EUR games. We all know that this is dirt cheap for the amount of work and money invested in this projects but people simply can't afford it anymore.
Console is not. It was once, no longer. You are collared.
I have a m8 with his Xbox and that's pretty clear, Convenient, as long as you lose your freedom with your games.
this and only this...
unless i want to exchange the whole system i don't have to... i can upgrade what ever it is i call my PC piece by piece, component by component.
can't do that with a console... once its out dated by just a minor time frame it basically has to go to the bin...
what a waste...
anyway, i completed my goal to bring views into this topic... now we can talk about them.
Geist, i'm sorry... but as GenX I can't believe PC Pricing is an actual complaint. Dude, I remember when you wanted a system in 1992 a PC with 8MB (yes I said 8 Megabyte) of DRAM, a 300MB (yes I didn't say Terabyte) a Super VGA Monitor, windows 3... you were going to spend around $3,500. Your monitor had 256 colors, around 1998 256mb if SD ram for... $586. Minimum wage was $5.15 an hour... and to buy a PC you had to walk up hill in the snow both ways.
