I don't think so, your pc doesn't even satisfy the minimum requirements for the game...

you can rightclick the game in steam, go to properties. then go to the beta tab and use one of the legacy versions. I dont think the next update will fix it for your computer, but maybe one of the older versions is still runnable.

Sorry mate. Since updates in most cases improving the game with new content and even more details, i highly doubt it will perform any better on your rig in the future. As others already pointed out, your computer just doesn't meet the requirements.

As far as i can say, you could either try with low graphics settings or an older version... or you need to replace your rig. And i mean _replacing_ it. Just upgrading one or two parts might be possible, but wouldn't make much sense regarding your actual hardware.

@OP I'd say: no. Your CPU is way too old, your RAM is way too slow. You want a current mainboard with a decent BUS speed and RAM which can at least clock 2666MHz (which is the bottom tier mind you). The CPU has to be a good single core - an actual one. Comparing raw GHz here won't cut it. I upgraded at release from an i7-3820k to i7-9700k (on the same mainboard) and the difference was night and day.

The GPU is the least important hardware in X4 and the old trick "reduce graphical settings" doesn't apply to the x series as the main game loop is running the universe simulation. Your system has to run this without being on its last legs, then you can play the game.
