So I read Grand exchange is best for mining but... resouorce probes show otherwise?
I flew around GE 2 of them and dropped rescource probes almost covering the entire sector and its resources are reaaally lackluster? Theres a LOT of astroids though like, a LOT! yet still so little resources? I think the gas other than methane is 2 stars. Other than that its half a star or no stars! I got 4 mining ships, is it best to deploy them here?

which one?

you know that there are three sector right and they all count as a single one as well with the superhighway

they should all have decent ore/silicon

Grand Exchange 1 has amazing ice

gases are pretty weak though but you don't need them in crazy quantity to begin with especially since the neighboring systems have them

It depends what you want to accomplish. In the early game, I'm looking for reputation, so I'll put a least one miner in every faction.

There is a map that shows the resources. You want a sector that has a resource that is mined and bought in the same sector because most of your pilots will only be able to local Automine.

I didnt understand a word u just said, might as well be chinese xD

Simply put, the best traders for ores are: Mining ships !
Sir Grumpy upgraded his HQ in Grand Exchange with a Solid Storage.
For every Medium size Mining Ship doing Trade only (assigned to his HQ), there are 4 Medium sized Mining Ship in Nopileos' Fortunes 2 (assigned to HQ also, filling up the Storage).
When enough Money, upgrade the miners to L Size, and befriend the Argon for Juicy Flak Canons to repel Kahak's.

To see what a sector has to offer look at the sector info in the map might have to click it a couple of times to see the list.

Grand exchange sectors are good because they seem to act like advanced miners and use all 3 sectors. But they won't leave any of the grand exchange sectors.

If you right click on the map anywhere in a sctor and click encyclopedia it will show you what resources are in that sector. You will need a resource probe or two if you do decide to mine it.

hmmh, but why use mining ships as trading ships?

Nopileos is also huge with no client in the same sector

So it a trade off as well

Because better Speed, Travel speed and Cargo capacity, paired with better resilience for the same job: transporting minerals to sell them.

Stupid question but are miners the only ships that can transport mine stuff? And how do you make them traders?

There are 3 types of wares:
Containers (Almost all wares)
Solid (Ores)
Liquid (Gases)

I made a typo on my previous post. Since only "miners" have the Solid type capacity, only them can haul Ores. (I think I got confused with probably X:Rebirth who has traders with Solid cargo).

Easiest way for them to trade is to assign them to a station, and manually place sell orders for the ores you are stockpiling.
