Turn off friendly fire
Any way to turn off friendly fire? It ruins a lot of the missions when the enemies just fly close to a station and coax the security to attack you

Nope. Aiming before shooting should do the trick.

You must be fun at parties, touch grass

I'm not being sarcastic. Also, I would suggest disabling any turrets on your ship.

On the other hand, if you let your relief pilot take over and order him to attack the target, any misfires at the station will not cause it to fire back.

Come on, man. It just takes a little discipline. Just wait until your target is not in front of a base. Check your backgrounds just like cops and special forces do. Only shoot when his background is space.

Don't be so weak.

I hate friendly fire rep loss from turrets. I use a friendly fire mod from kuertee, where only damage from the main gun can result in rep loss from friendly fire.

See in your response you at least tried to say something helpful but if someone's response is just "git gud", they're clearly just trying to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

without mods the only viable solution to friendly fire is simply trigger discipline.

watch were you shoot, make sure you are not hitting allies or neutrals and everything is fine.

though, if you insist to practice reckless behavior you got to be prepared for consequences.

thats all the very sensitive FF mechanic is about... pretty much like real life.

you shoot an ally you got to be court marshalled... or in case of X... fired upon for reckless behavior.

speaking of wich... if you don't like the responses given to you thats fine, insulting the people who gave their honest advises however isn't.

The issue is the AI keeps flying really close to stations and get an advantage where they can shoot at me however if I shoot back, the station takes it negatively.

It's usually not a problem in space games for me however this one was an exception and I was seeing if there was any way I could change that.

It wasn't about reckless shooting and when someone just implies it's cause they suck and nothing else, that's an insulting too.

Would you be willing to link that mod here please? I can't find it for the life of me and would love to try it out!

Well that's rather bad form.

If the station becomes an enemy because you're fighting near that station and not hitting it then those ships you are fighting are allies of that station and they will attack you anyway.

Who are you fighting and at what station?

Again.. very funny... most of my ship losses happen because of AI stupidity or friendly fire.... Guess we really do have to micro manage every single ship.
eMYNOCK  [developer] Sep 16, 2023 @ 5:22am
if you want to avoid FF incidents, yes... a lot of micro management.
you are smarter than the NPC scripts, use that to your advantage.

if the ships you fight are from a different faction that the stations... get betwen these ships and the station and force them to hit that instead of you...
and while you are on it there is no way you could potentially hit it your self.

but thats just an example.
