Hyperion budgeted start not working?
So, normally you complete the Hyperion mission and you get 2 Hyperions with 2 great pilots and one of the Hyperions nicely modded. I started a new game (budgeted) unlocked the option as complete: story state: chariot of Xaar's Chariot (I also tried the other one for the holy order) but when I start the game no Hyperion. Not 2, not 1, zero. I fly to trinity sanctum at the space-yard but nothing there either? I tried another budgeted start where I littered almost all sectors with advanced satellites, and still no Hyperion(s). Isn't the whole point of story state completed = the Hyperion should be there? mods and pilots included? or does it just unlock the blueprints?

That's how it's meant to be. You're essentially choosing which faction gets it.

This is not really that weird; there are a lot of plot reward ships you don't get by selecting the completed plot. Given how easy and short the Hyperion quest is, there's not really much need to skip it anyway if you want the ships.
Typically when selecting plots completed rewards are not included.
If you want the ship add it as the starting ship or deselect the plot :)

so whats the point of selecting plot done? Except losing the Hyperions? I just wished I could start a new game without having to first explore sectors (you need to find the gates) then travel and follow the Hyperion, then send a scout at hatikva and make it farm for an hour till you get the comps for the second Hyperion. I did that once, and for a new start its even longer.
It still adds it to the faction, so if you don't want to personally fly one at the outset but want it in the game it achieves that. And I guess if you really badly want to skip the quest you can also give yourself a Hyperion? You'll just have to mod it yourself later (but you can also set the research complete, so, not necessarily much later).

The Hyperion exists in the Custom Game Start as a selectable ship, you can set it as your starting ship or make fleets of them.

In custom budgeted start with "Chariot of Xaar" you can buy Hyperion blueprint and Hyperion from paranid. The price is 20 mil or so. You can also have unmodded one as a starter ship.

The point is that you won't have to play "run around random sector" every time you start a new game. Custom starts often result in missing rewards. For example, you don't get "swan song" or "geometric owl".

This is wrong.
A lot of the plots in custom game start give the ships you get as reward, Xshuttle, Erlking, Revan, Hydra Regal etc.

you can still add the ship as playable when creating a custom gale.

I feel like how it works right now is not intuitive, nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥ if HOP or GOP is gonna build 2 hyperions.

We should definitely get the rewarded Hyperion with modifications when selecting that plot. after all the normal Hyperion is still the worst ship in the game.

maybe in 6-8 months when they dropp 7.60 they will improve this like they did with many other plots.

You miss Swan Song and Geometric Owl. And you still need to collect timelines ship every time you start.

Anyway you're free to make suggestion on egosoft forums.

Nah I don't really care, I hope someone who cares does it, personnally I'll never use the Hyperion. I'll also pass on the next one ship DLC

Long story short if you do not do the plots you miss out on lots of ships.
That is why I said typically that =/= all situations :p

The Hyperion is a very good ship mostly. Wish front guns 'aim' was a bit better
and that when I am on the flight deck Mr Hanky was not around :p
The doors could use a bit of opening and that unreachable door be accessible too.
But assisting my defense fleets (still retarded) and keeping my looters from being
munched on my xenon (also idiots mostly) is fun but I am a hands on player not a sit in the PHQ and watch from a distance kind of player.
