if you're in sector you should try to specifically order the ships to attack turrets first to pull out such a stations teeth.
if it happens out of sector the same rule applies but the stations defense drones, if it has any, may not show on your map while still taking out fighter after fighter.
Wait the command to attack Elements work ?
attack in sector with cheap and disposable s ships that have burst rays, use bombers or any other approach or configuration you fancy... just be aware that stations may have drones.
additionally... the context menu has the all elements, shields, weapons and engines entries for a reason...
and the AI is able to use it quiet effective them.. against other NPCs and players.
I used a mixture of bombers and those with proton barrages/ pulses, I don't think Terrans have "burst Rays." They would get one (1) strike on an element, before hovering about looking for a new target, then die to gravitons. In sector and out of sector had no meaningful change, except my interceptors died less OOS because they couldn't see the drones launching to go after them lol
Most time the ai ignore the command and attack the ship or station.
Now it range torpedo and the like or else your gonna lose half your fighter when more then 1 module explode at the wrong time
