VR "Almost" - Quest2 setup as immersive as can be
As like many others I would love a full on VR experience of X4! The game is stunning and continues to blow my mind with each new discovery experienced! I've now dominated the big 52" TV in the living room for days annoying the Mrs and it is beautiful!
What I've tested with is playing X4 through my Quest2 using an app called VRDesktop. There is an associated client you install to your pc to set up the stream from there website. https://www.vrdesktop.net/ Granted this is not free but its totally worth the price of a few coffees. It shows your desktop as big a screen as you want here, there are options to curve the display around you or make it larger, smaller, nearer, further away. Hell, you can even set it so it looks like your playing it at a theatre!
I've done this with a few other games that don't have native VR supt and its totally made it all the more enjoyable! Its just that little extra bit of immersion squeezed out of the game...

X:R is in VR. It's pretty incredible, honestly. Just being able to see one of these stations actually really the size that it would be in real life is mind blowing.

XRvr! It’s on my to do list! I totally sunk many hours in the non-vr latest version with some amazing mods done by some very gifted modders! 😄
Now in x4 when I first claimed an osprey and parked it, getting out of it and looking up on the immense ship was awesome! Plus a xenon P and S are enormous too. This is after being used to an elite from the start. I'd never have appreciated the size of these ships until you park them up and go walk around them! I felt like a kid playing micro machines and tonka trucks 😄

It's this! This is why it must go VR!

shift+middle mousebutton actually unlocks mousecockpit view and everything feels like VR (even the menu, map, etc changes its angles when looking around).
if you somehow make it possible to combine this mouseview mode with your headset and still make steering your ship possible with something else, everything should feel like a real VR game.
