3D Coordinates
My Map shows X and Z but not not the third dimension and there is no other clue to position on my gravidar,

I'm not looking for fourth and fifth dimensions but surely the map isn't flat,

What if for example I want to fly under a Xenon base,

Guess this may be an obvious question with an obvious answer but need some advice.

I had a similar problem then I realised that if you rotate the map to look at it sideways (right click by default with the mouse), when you look at any order marker you'll see a dotted line going up and down. That's your 3rd axis - you can grab it and pull it up and down for height.

This, but it works very badly. Ships will often not go where you tell them to or turn in a circle for an hour then go the other way.

This system needs a rework, badly.

Edit: To circumvent that, you have to re-drag the marker a couple of times in succession, it's very annoying but the only thing I found that helps.... if you see the ship is starting to run the wrong direction re-drag the marker for just a bit, again and again and again. Eventually it will go there.

Edit

Thanks that's interestihg. I have played around with rotate and its now a little clearer where ships are going and where the stations are in space.

I'm flying my own ship shortly after a start and I'm not sure that I can give it orders. Its quite frustrating trying to explore maps unless you know where you are at any one time.

I;m going to go back to a few sectors.
