Best ship build for "Snooping Around" mission?

Having trouble with this mission. Finding and scanning the data leak is easy- getting out in one piece, not so much.

I'm thinking I need a Scout with Tier 3 combat engines and shield to pull this one off.

Any suggestions on tactics? One of the Scale Plate bases has a nearby highway onramp. Problem is, first hit knocks my ship out of travel drive, and I get shot to pieces before I can get to it. And me not being Manfred von Richthofen or Erich Hartmann, there are way too many to take on. 1v1 with a Zeon F is about all I can handle until I scrape the rest of the rust off my meager piloting skills.

Is there some really obvious tactic I'm missing?

Scan the leak, boost away and start the travel drive. No need to fight. I am pretty sure you have plenty of time to just fly away. Well, you can also buy some laser towers if you reaaally need to and drop them.

When travel drive doesn't work, BOOST.

If you want a really fast ship, try Irukanji. That's boron scout, so you need kingdom end dlc. I'm not sure if it requires increased reputation.
