Oort Cloud
I watched a documentary about The Oort Cloud the other day. It was by Professor Brian Cox. A really cool dude. I'll put the link up, but it's BBC and all of you might not get it? It'll be on youtube soon. It's really cool. Out there in the Oort Cloud everything is very dark and very, very, very, very, very far away. The theory is Oort Cloud surrounds our entire solar system and there are some very big rocks out there. Planet sized rocks. Thankfully the whole thing is pretty stable and it's almost like another layer of protection for us Earthlings as any huge comets heading our way get stopped by the Oort Cloud and if something escapes that then Jupiter will surely stop it with it's massive gravitational pull and sheer size. We are truly blessed. It would be easy to believe a God had a hand in this, but I digress.

I'm only up to episode 4, but they're all worth watching for sure.

Have they found Silicon refinery there?

The Oort cloud does contain big rocks, it might contain dwarf planets (It's hard to know, it would have to travel in front of stars in an obvious way for us to see it). But it is not thick enough to actually stop a comet or anything. When we zoom out to see the Oort cloud. It might seem thick, but there is a AU between each rock. It would be the wildest stroke of luck to actually hit one.
And when I say big, I mean it would take 28 days for light to reach the inner ring of the Oort cloud, and a full year or more to reach the outside of the cloud.
In Star Trek the motion picture, they claim they can't enter warp until leaving the solar system. That means it apparently requires the Enterprise to travel at half the speed of light for 2 years before they can even use their warp drives.

Honestly I'm not an expert on this and while you're all free to speculate I'm going with the professor. He does say that we really don't know. Because it's so far away and as dark as pitch. I mean it's darker than anything we've ever seen on earth. Proper pitch black and this is also where comets can come from if something collides with each other and comets do not have a long life and that's largely because of the mind boggling distance that is The Oort cloud.

Honestly when I first watched it I was half expecting one of my miners to show up lmao. I kept reaching for my mouse while on the couch. But these are great to watch. Professor Brian Cox is super IQ off the charts/spectrum.

There is one Theory that claims the Oort Cloud is what remained when the Sol System formed and wasn't caught by the forming Planets.

Another says that its the literal border of our Solar System and everything behind that is true Interstellar Space.

I'm no Scientist or Astro Physicist... Prof. Cox and Neil deGrasse Tyson are.

I just love how we are either very lucky or very protected. I'm guessing we're lucky. I've always been lucky and life needed so much luck to even have a slim chance and it still did it. And to top it off it made me who is also lucky.

Prof Cox has an IQ of 183 which is ridiculous. I mean who was clever enough to test him? You can tell he knows his stuff. He will literally turn the universe into mathmatics and then into the quantum world and come up with answers to questions none of us thought of.
