The Oort cloud does contain big rocks, it might contain dwarf planets (It's hard to know, it would have to travel in front of stars in an obvious way for us to see it). But it is not thick enough to actually stop a comet or anything. When we zoom out to see the Oort cloud. It might seem thick, but there is a AU between each rock. It would be the wildest stroke of luck to actually hit one.
And when I say big, I mean it would take 28 days for light to reach the inner ring of the Oort cloud, and a full year or more to reach the outside of the cloud.
In Star Trek the motion picture, they claim they can't enter warp until leaving the solar system. That means it apparently requires the Enterprise to travel at half the speed of light for 2 years before they can even use their warp drives.
Honestly when I first watched it I was half expecting one of my miners to show up lmao. I kept reaching for my mouse while on the couch. But these are great to watch. Professor Brian Cox is super IQ off the charts/spectrum.
Another says that its the literal border of our Solar System and everything behind that is true Interstellar Space.
I'm no Scientist or Astro Physicist... Prof. Cox and Neil deGrasse Tyson are.
Prof Cox has an IQ of 183 which is ridiculous. I mean who was clever enough to test him? You can tell he knows his stuff. He will literally turn the universe into mathmatics and then into the quantum world and come up with answers to questions none of us thought of.
