KHK Hive and extended sector map
So I'm at this point where this is getting annoying. I've claimed a sector (yuppi), sadly its next to a khk hive. Instead of them coming thru the jump gate, they just started spawning out of thin air above or below the map plain. Is it possible they have bases somewhere in the sector that's not in the initial range of the map, i kind of left my pilot flying in the vast nothingness on Shift + 1, so i know there is more then what the map shows. How to know what sectors contain additional stations outside what the map shows, because due to trading some of my ships managed to expand a sector and i noticed it was a single station built in the far beyond,

Thats how the Khaak working, all they're ships have jump drives so they can appear out of nowhere and can disapear into nothing.
Well thanks for the info, didn't expect them having jump drives, but that would explain a lot of the things. Well I hope someday when i get to the next zone and destroy that hive, they'll stop.

It started feeling like a meme, like those where people find oil and here comes the united states :D, so thats the US of ore and silicon.

Unfortunately KHK just keep shuffling around the map. You squash a hive here and they pop another one up there. I have had them far above or below the ecliptic plane which makes finding them a PITA, have to just get lucky and have one of your scouts or miners stumble across them.
So according to that post, the Khaak have a base somewhere in my sector as i suspected.

More importantly it tells you exactly what area you need to look in.

Hives spawn similarly except the area is expanded to 170 to 190 km outside the core of the sector. Both can spawn +/- 20km on the y axis and with a random yaw rotation.

Small tip
When you cover your sector with satellites i allways start in the 6 corners, so i know for ever what the origin size was.

And, but this needs some tests in 7.1 a few years ago you could expand the sector borders by placing nav beacons at the borders, at least in the past they made the map zooming out

My approach nowadays would be
1: Place advanced satellites in the corners
2: Give 6 Pegasus scouts the explore command in these corners
3: Place Nav Beacons in the new expanded Corners
But thats only a theorie at this moment, i guess i reach that gamestage the next 2-3 days

I still test how i can Patrol my Sectors in a working way

Until it is 'fixed' have the sector explored out beyond where the hives spawn and use the create station plot to see the hives and outposts to destroy them.

Also SCA ships seem to fly toward them so keeping track of those helps as well.

They usually have bases well beyond the base range of the sector map. You could try to find them with long range scans, or use the base finding glitch. See here:

I'll experiment a bit, thats how i'm going to search for those mfs, i have 6 scouts from early game and will put them in the corners with explore and expand

Could you elaborate, i found the station today and destroyed it. I don't understand the plot thingy. Regarding SCA i'll have that in mind, thou i don't like the mfs because i lost one of my earliest ships to them without any reason. If i follow them its for kills

The plot thingy is where you build a plot for a new station you intend to build. Selecting that will show you were Khaak/Xenon stations are on the map even if you haven't found them. You don't need to buy or place the plot. Just select it and you should see them straight away as they are highlighted in red.

It's a bit cheesy, but sometimes it has to be done.
SirProsik Nov 4, 2024 @ 9:54am
When you start to create a new plot as the game currently runs you can see all the current station plots in the fog of war already uncovered even if the station was built after you removed the fog. So if you removed the fog you can see SCA stations at the edges of the sector as well as the Khaak ones.

So start to create a station plot in the sector but back out before actual creation lets you see the sector plots.

Like he said.

Lol I got to test it, if you guys are serious and its still a thing i'll hunt down every KHK Scum in my sector. In my 100 hours i haven't noticed that plots do this.
