No Khaak

So been playing my current game for a while and I just realised there is no Khaak? I can see hives, but no Khaak anywhere on the map are attacking my miners and I have quite a few miners dotted about all over the universe. I'm terraforming so I'm at late game. I didn't wipe them out? In fact I cannot remember ever having a problem with them this game? They just failed to show up.

I miss them if I'm honest.

I started a new game in 7.0 and I'm currently on 7.1 Beta 2. I have not seen any Kha'ak either, even though their hives are there.

Maybe Egosoft removed Kha'ak spawn by mistake :-D Be fast and mine as much as you can before they return :-D

Kha'ak should spawn progressively and in larger numbers in some sectors. They are a pain in the neck with constant attacks. in one of my saves, The Reach and Asteroid field are a common battlefield for those purple pyramids of doom.

They may not show up in a lot of sectors, doesn't mean they aren't active somewhere.

No they really are not anywhere. I've checked. The hives are there, but I cannot find one Khaak ship anywhere now bear in mind there's normally 10 or so trying to take down a L miner and sometimes you get several groups of them all popping away at different miners.

I just dealt with a khaak outbreak today in the asteroid belt, it got so bad I had to go scout out the hive on the edge of the system and take it out. They haven't bothered me in any other system I'm mining in.

If you're struggling with khaak attacks (especially in the Belt) I can suggest my normal response to them. Build yourself some quick patrol battlegroups. Say 4-5 or more Katanas for example. 2-3ish patrols of that in the belt is generally enough. I also use gorgons for the same purpose. Anything with a fast normal speed as patrol fleets spend most of their time flying in sector in normal flight and boost/travel speed when they've got a target in range

lol see the Khaak always make themselves known to the player at some point. Every other game I've played I've had to set up Guppies to deal with the Khaak. Except this one. It took me a while to notice, although I had my suspicions early on when no Khaak appeared in HOP sectors where my miners are. They always appear there. But not this game. They're not in Watchful Gaze either. Or Heretic's End. None in any of the Grand Exchange sectors. None in Asteroid Belt. None in the Second Contact sectors.

I cannot find a Khaak ship anywhere on my map and I'm late game, assets everywhere, Terraforming and I cannot remember seeing one Khaak ship the entire game?

Oh I have seen them. The Boron plot. That's it. The hives are still in Sanctuary of Darkness and I have hives in one of the Silent Witness pirate sectors, but nothing is happening ship wise.

Probably my fault, I shot so many of them in the Timelines DLC that they went extinct :-D

I find them useful for leveling my pilots though.

How far into the game are you? I'm finding that Kha'ak don't start showing up to harass as much until 18-24 hours in.

That isn't needed, as i have a station in the sector supplying what the Terrans desperately need, computronic substrate. The Terrans are well supplied and have a lot of ships patrolling the asteroid field. That said the Kha'ak spawn quite frequently and, sometimes two or three jump points at the same time, usually around my station.

The Reach is another story, there is nothing out there except some stations and a few L sized miners. With nothing to stop the kha'ak from getting out of control in numbers. if you have miners out there with a station in Argon Prime, i hope they have good shielding and flak turrets so they are more effective in OOS.

Possible. With the rebalance giant Mining fleets are not very much needed anymore. I mean sure you still can do it but it will tank the price of Ores. I use a "smaller" fleet of 5 L miners now and reposition them to areas where I can get above average price for ore instead.

In my 7.00 save, I sent a few L miners to Family Nhuut.

That combined with the heavy pre-existing ZYA mining activity there meant that the Kha'ak spawn on an almost constant basis, causing havoc for all the miners there.

So they definitely can show up.

lmao @ not mining enough. I'm a late game, terraforming, billionaire who got rich from miners. I'm mining plenty.

They are just not there. Besides other factions mine and I see a few sectors rammed with miners that should have Khaak, but do not.

Mmh - I also haven't got any Kha'ak. Seems the whining about mining (^^) was a "success" and we are back to the baby sandbox.
