Fate of the Yaki
Hi, It's been quite awhile since I've done this mission. Which route should I take and in your opinion, which is the most interesting and why?

I have three options:
Save Them From Themselves
Mutually Assured Destruction
The Smoking Gun

The one where you lead the Xenon to Earth. Just because you can.
Hack the turret terminals of the Terran defense stations before the Xenon appear. :-)

how do you start this mission? is it in the terran cadet story
? I would love to play argon and unleash xenon on the terran

It all depends on what you want to do. You can tell them that the Yaki are not a threat, opening them up for trade. You can tell them that they are a threat and they will go after them in force, and depending on how your universe is fairing, that would be the end of the Yaki. Or if you hate the Terrans, you can lead the Xenon to Earth, and again, depending on mods and how your universe is fairing, the Xenon can mess them up.

You need to raise reputation with terrans to +5 and more, and the mission will become available. Though, many things will be quite strange, if you show up in an overpowered ship. As the sidekick in the mission was meant to be your buddy you got through flight school with, and it doesn't feel the same, if you arrive at terran mission in a Destroyer.

Even if you save yaki, they will unable to do anything, because developers restricted them to build anything and restricted to have any L or XL ship. Even if they befriend with argon AND argon will capture sector with yaki they will not do nothing, except AI traders will waste resources to sell them, and yaki will build they fighters and attack terrans and yaki will evaporate because of than, then terrans will form fleet after that attacks and will destroy yaki station as it is enemy/ Yaki cannot survive or pretend to bi fearsome enemy.
My advice is make reputation with them via trade, buy blueprints and, heatup guns.

What people not really telling you, you can do multiple
First, fly and say that yaki not a threat, and get a syn destroyer for it, and after you can choose between 2 other options
But the ease how you can get a syn is just ridiculous:)

Well if you never done it before i guess you would not care about unlocking achievements. Since any path you take it has some achievement to unlock. If you take a path that will set the Protectorate as enemy to the Yaki they will send the Spear of Odin Asgard and company to assist you in taking those sectors, this would make most sense to a new player.
But if you tell Delilah the Yaki are not a threat and then go and surgically remove the Amplifier without removing many of the Xenon infrastructure on the way to Savage Spur, Yaki will be upset for a short time but will turn around and see the benefit and give you chance to show them that you have a Heart of a Pirate and raise reputation with them and buy the blueprints also Shannon will return to you and join you with a very nice modified Karuoakami plus some more goody's from Yaki.(you can keep this mission in limbo best outcome imo.)
If you decide to push the button send the Xanon in to A greener pastures namely lead them to Earth they will muster a nice fleet that will need also great help from you to actually get things done. Shannon will fight you if you get in his way of him informing the Terran of what you did, bye bye Terran reputation if he succeed.
Or you can tell the Terran Yaki are nobody's then go wipe everyone thrue Tarka to Savage spur and actively turn the Yaki from hostile (-25) to just enemy (-15) with most faction will let AI trade ships to dock at Yaki Wharf and trade but they will stop attacking others. (imo worst case scenario)

Save them from themselves is the smart option. I have done the other option where you ramp up the Xenon and the Terran easily killed them and then me lol.

If you want the Yaki blueprints then it's save them from themselves. Takes a lot though. By far the hardest plot. Need some mean fleets.

Personally I tell them the yaki are not a threat and then destroy the thingy they use to control xenon. After that I dont clear the xenon, I just make a wharf to produce yaki ships only.

Now the xenon in my universe have help, where ever they are the yaki seem to group up and thus the xenon become a threat again (at least to people who are hostile to yaki).

As long as you let yaki print ships they will be a threat along side the xenon for ai.

If you destroy all other Xenon clusters in the gate network except for the middle one, then Mutually assured destruction is insane. 25+ Xenon capital ships move in one huge blob and end up going on a genocidal rampage through Terran space.

Middle? where? I dont know any secor that xenon controll in middle of map... And in all my games xenon was happy to be exterminated by... Teladi, most powerfull race in this game because have all resources and in big amounts and pretty cheap ships they have.

ths is almost north part, except savage spur, but in all my games this sector argon and teladi with easy clean up after xenon destroy split and terrans help them alot.
In last game with 18 days without seta, tealdi take all split sectors, and atgon take tharka cascade, 79b, and savage spur.
And paranid exterminate all on south.
I really dont understand why xenons are threat in games, xenons can win only if player fight agains factions or player install mods on game.

With this one to destroy the amplifier station. You can take that free syn you get, travel drive through the xenon sectors and then obliterate the amplifier station. Take laser towers and repair drones or the yaki corvettes will shred you. The only ship u need is the free ones they give you.

I mean, relative to all the other Xenon clusters, it is the middle Xenon cluster despite it's northernly location.

If the Xenon in your game are getting completely wiped out across the whole map without player intervention, then you should report it as a bug on the forums, because that's not intended to happen.
