GPU Heating issues....

I've tried to get into this game again and as soon as I'm loading the game up my PC decides to have a hissy fit - gpu shoots to 85degrees fans 100% full beast mode etc.

I've played lots of triple A games and all of them are comfortable but even when everything is set low and low resolution etc its just horrible even just walking around a station etc.

Did a search I've seen a lot of other people having issues aswell over the years.....

so the question is....what do i do? was there ever a known cause etc?

85 isn't too hot for a modern GPU so ignore it. Clean your fans out, make sure your case has good airflow, and ignore it. Most AAA games are microscopic compared to X4.

the temp isnt a problem as such,,,,its more the whole pc turns into a jet engine to reduce the temp - my pc is clean and really good air flow im convinced its a setting error not a physical issue - its cool and quiet on every other game on my steam list....

Try cranking all graphics to max so you bottleneck somewhere else. Or put an FPS lock on.

My 6700xt has the fans turn off half the time because the game chugs so hard on CPU. About the only place I get get it to produce some heat is Sanctuary of Darkness. I wish I had your problem of the game running too good.

game running to good? ive barely played 1 hour because the noise was unbearable - still tinkering about now - i think forcing a 60fps cap and playing in 1080p may be my only option atm - its just confusing as hell - im rtx 2080 btw for reference

Enjoy it, your going to be getting like 20fps end game once you have your economy set up.

With it's fake economy?
And obvious secondary answer, adjust your fan curves to not run so loud. If you have your case fans tied to CPU temperatures, that could explain what is happening. X4 uses a lot of CPU.
