Automated Resupply - How does it work?
Hello, I'm new to the game. I notice the "automatic resupply" option in the global and individual order.

However, I'm not sure I understand it correctly. What is Low, Medium, High?
Low means " when I reach a low amount of Ex: Drones, satellites, crew members, ammo, resource probes, etc ) , when low in quantity, my ship will auto go to any station ro re-supply itself? Is that what " Low" pertains?

Or does "automatic resupply" only applies to ammos? missiles? For my own ship? Or for other ships?

Or does it apply to something else?

I've wiki search for a good 2 hours with no answer, didn't find anything on Youtube either or on Reddit. ( well there was a topic on it but still didn't answer my questions )

Should I leave "Automated resupply" on off? Is it beneficial to leave it off or not?

What does Medium and High stand for? Quality? Quantity? percentage of my consummable?

Any veterans who can help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think it applies to ships that are assigned to carriers/auxiliaries. They will automatically dock to resupply their missiles, and you control how low will they let their ammo get before they do that. It might also apply to their hull, as in they will dock and repair when they are damaged. I haven't used carriers all that much so I am not 100% sure though.

You can also assign auxiliary ships to fleets to "supply" them. Logic would follow that all the ships in that fleet would then also obey that order and automatically resupply/repair at the ship when they are low on ammo/hull strength, but I have never tested that personally.

Automated resup should be on for all ships you wish to provide (i think) or get resupplied.
- I think low med and high represent damage / stock levels required to trigger a resupply.
- maybe low - 20% missiles, med 50%, high 80% but that is a guess. It may also depend on whether in combat / how far they will travel. (How urgent the resupply is)

In "old" they would only resup from a carrier / aux, but I think now they will use your shipyard / eq dock.

You may wish to have a resup fleet in a safe area (set to resup high / patrol somewhere safe).
Then just assign ships from your resup low / off combat fleet into the resupply fleet if you wish more control.

I equip a ship with what I want it to carry, (I think you can name loadout).
If it is set to have 20 missiles, then when it uses some, it will try to resupply back to 20.
Not 100% sure if it will if you teleport in and fire some, but if ai pilot uses them, he will try to resupply.

You may wish to leave a fleet for a while - resup often happens when not looking for me.

Also - need to do the get supplies - and I have aux in a fleet set to something other than hold position.

Aux / Carrier can have very low storage, so may take time to resupply whole torpedo fleet.
Not sure how good game is at resup 1/3 load then returning when aux has filled up.

tip - don't fill the hold of your aux with stuff (actual missiles / laser towers etc) it reduces the space for resupply materials.

Don't think ships on repeat orders will honour a resupply though.
While resupply indeed is responsible for consumables restock I have huge doubt about repair process.

Repair in a fleet is a question requiring proper testing, but I can say for sure that miner subordinate with resupply turned off have same will to repair as the one with "high" option chosen.

"When rearming in this manner, the equipment that they get is determined by the loadout level set for automatic resupply."

"In general, Low, Medium, and High sets the number and quality of ammunition and deployables that your ships get when they automatically rearm. Off instructs them to never automatically rearm. Default is Off."

In short: it does *something* but we can't say for sure what it is.

HI, yea, I read that somewhere but that doesn't explain my question entirely. I guess I'll just have to do some testing and see for myself.

Thanks anyways

Hi, thanks for your response. You said " I think"... meaning you're not sure? Have you tested it? Or.. are you just guessing everything?
